Book One Extract

This is the first half of the latestest chapter from my Book One. Is it any good? I am trying to make some headway on my novels whilst i have some time off, and any advice and concrit would most definately be beneficial for the series as a whole!

I enjoyed it - although it's always difficult to get into a fragment of a book. Put it all on, chapter by chapter.
I enjoyed the sense of place, the sense of nothing happening, the obese Captain. It all adds up to a good start - I await developments.
You write clearly and well - trust your voice and just keep going!
