Library Serenade

I saw her standing there
In the library by the magazines
And a song jumped in my head
As if delivered by some supernatural power
I leapt up on a table
And bellowed out these lines
Oooohhhh baby pleeeeeeaaaassseeee
Let's go out tonight
You don't even know my name
Or from where I came
But I'm beggin' you girl
Take a chance and you'll be alright
Take a chance - I'm dynamite!!!
I ran out of words
And someone dropped a book
I saw my shoes on the reading table
And realised I wasn't able
To get down so easily
But then she stepped up to me
Motioning that I come closer
She whispered in my ear
So that no one else could hear
"You're so embarassing sometimes...
And our kids are just outside
Though I truly love you darling
Sometimes I want to hide.
We left with people starring
But we left together
The song had worked - she loved me
I think I'll love my wife forever
