Galactic nightmares.
Garden gnomes are garish but could
Gradually grow on you;
Goblins however could be grotesque, yet
Gremlins never glimpsed can
Generate all your grief in one gigantic glut.

Fun. There is an apocryphal tale that Roald Dahl, who worked on the development of the top secret RAdio Detection And Ranging during WWII, coined the term Gremlins whilst serving in the RAF. I can tell you (if you don't already know) that it is still in use today for any unexplained unserviceability. Ewan x

I had heard something of the sort, but didn't know it was Roald Dahl, although I'm not surprised; he was such an imaginative and intelligent man. My grandchildren and my husband love the BFG, every time the film is on TV He never stops laughing and believe me to make my husband laugh is so much hard work. Thanks for commenting. Val

Hahahahaha! Hilarious! And don't, whatever you do, get them wet!!! (My Gremlim reference is rather different to Ewan's, you see!) p.s. I wonder why so many mythical beasts begin with 'G'? Ghouls, Ghosts, errr..
