Coming With Age

Life trickles on
in a quiet fashion
gone the hustle
the bustle
the passion;
the joy
the wonder
of youth in a hurry;
the birthing of children
the financial worry.
Gone the horror
of putting on weight
ruining my figure
being late
for a date;
I don't see the need
to run for a bus;
fall out with my neighbour
or kick up a fuss.
I've learned to be patient
even sublime;
not to rush around madly
to bide my time;
most things come
to those who wait
finding it nicer
to anticipate.
My life has slowed
to a gentler pace;
I appreciate patience
with a little grace.
Now, I have the notion
to look at a flower;
to treasure each second
each minute and hour.

This is a very lovely
This is a very lovely poem.
It's gentle, mellow,
and easy on the mind.
Can't help but smile.
