hopes light eternal - or - fears into damnation

i was scared of feeling empty and alone
like a child crying inside lost from his mother
living in fear and trying to attone
for cruel acts done by one to another
i have seen the ways in which people behave
seeking no retribution for that love they enslave
i am not them

i was scared of loving and feeling none back
as if bleached or tainted by a philandering ghost
my heart filled to busting all ready to crack
but split it has been by few but not most
that i almost admitted defeat
and packed up my feelings all tidy and neat
you are not them

in the cold light of day it is how you persieve
the love you give and how you recieve
i am no fool i see your fears too
i have felt them inside, if you can bury them, do
for true love will wait and will conquer them all
every single fear you have be they great or be small
we are not them

take now my hand and feel the warmth within
and let your eyes light up with loves wonderous grin
allow yourself passion and feel it grow
let seeds of love be taken to sow
dont let your fear rule you within
to let love fade and die is surely a sin
