A Critical View

If one was to step back from this body of flesh, to withdraw our thoughts from the physical surroundings of our mind what would we see?
If the field of vision was not just our surrounding community but an image of the world as it is on a whole.
To look down with a passing thought on all the regions that fit together, each one like the tiny electrical components of a circuit board.
Would we ponder upon the Pakistani workman sowing the football together for a lot less than £40 a week?
Could we watch as the ball makes its way round the world till it’s at the feet of the English premier league star that in turn is paid sums far beyond the English workers dreams; just to kick it gracefully.
Would the mind then travel with the football star’s feelings of love towards his botoxfully beautiful wives and girlfriends, then fix the gaze upon the fine diamonds around her body; from the finely cut rings to the precious droplet ear rings. Could we gaze upon the history of those precious stones from their journey out of the diamond mine to the hands of the under paid over worked slave labourer; then into the market place of the rich bourgeois capitalists each trading a little piece of another mans soul. Could we look across the market place from the diamond dealers to the table of arms dealers making huge sums in the spoils of war? Would we then drift into our bodies and take a deep sigh without feeling cheated?
Cheated by the media advertisements that bombard our daily lives and actions; each advertisement burning its little image into a single cell of our cranium. But this is not the whole picture of the world. If we take our minds out again and this time look a little deeper; Take our mind on a journey away from our material wants, venture round the college classrooms, the learning chasms for the youth of today. Watch as they study themselves as well as their chosen subjects. Then drift along the timeline to the gap year as some of them travel to Africa to see first hand how the high street charity shops are helping those less fortunate, watch as they contemplate how the fashions they wear are made and sent to their country of wealth. Drift your mind to the top of the skies so you can see the entire world and focus on the good elements you can see in the world.
Follow the conservationists dedicating their lives to the welfare of life on earth, watch as the young and old green peace volunteers clean the beach and animals from the oil that has spilled from the giant tankers at sea, but don’t be surprised if your mind wants to follow backward on the timeline with the oil tanker, tracing it back to the port and back to the oil field in Iraq, Observing as you drift the bloody war fought in the name of business contracts. Do not focus on the blinded British worker travelling around the world to work on the oil sites. Instead watch the foreign workers using the processed oil in the Chinese factories to put together the latest I-phone. Allow your mind to absorb the same chemicals that their children are exposed to every morning when they wash in the polluted water. Then dive your mind deep into the river and follow it out to the oceans of the world, witness as the European fishermen throw tons upon tons of dead fish back into the ocean for the sake bureaucratic quotas.
If one was able to focus their mind upon the world we live in, it would be certified madness. No single conscience will feel guilt for the worlds wrongs. How many of us would gladly bind our eyes shut if every time we opened them we seen this world for what it is;
“A world driven by greed for material possession.”
But what is the driving force for greed and material goods? Is it the want for luxury goods to indulge in so we do not have to think about the rest of the world; A catch 22.
The more television shows of entertainment to keep us occupied, the more computer games, the more gadgets to bemuse us, the tighter the bindings on our eyes. The only way to see is to take the mind to higher plains where it can look all over the world and make a critical view of the good the bad and the damn right ugly, then we can count the change in our pockets and decide for ourselves how much change can make a change?
If we suddenly wake up and find a reason to be alive then we can be assured we have reached awareness.
Once the individual reaches this state of mind money will no longer be an object of mans conscious mind, the floods will cease and love and peace will increase.
