A BABY'S ABC (I.P.)

A is for Amazement
That I can suck my toes,
B's for Bouncing Baby
And for my Button nose.

C is for the Crawling
I'll do quite soon (with luck),
D is for the Dummy
I Diligently suck.

E's the Entertainment
I find in simple things,
F is for the Farley's rusks
My mummy often brings.

G is for my Gurgling
It's cos I cannot speak,
H is for my daddy's Hand
Gentle on my cheek.

I is for the Innocence
I hope to keep awhile,
J is for the Joy I feel
At my mummy's smile.

K is for the Kisses
She showers on my head,
L's the Love that keeps me safe
As I sleep in my bed.

M is for my Mother's Milk
Helping me grow strong,
N is how she Nurtures me
Helping me along.

O is for the Old folks
Who peer into my pram,
P's for endless Pee and Pooh
I've Pooped again (oh damn!)

Q is for the Quilt nan made
Sewn with love and care,
R is for the Romper suits
My parents make me wear.

S is for the Soothing Sound
Of daddy's gentle voice,
T's for Tommy Tippee
The drinking cup of choice.

U is my Unswerving trust
As in dad's arms I lie,
V's for Vaccinations
(The needle made me cry!).

W is for Wailing
When I Want my Way,
X was my first Xmas
I wish it were today.

Y is for the massive Yawn
That says it's time to rest,
Z's the Zeds I shall now catch
Content that I am blessed.
