The Land of my Dreams
The land was laid out before me, awaiting and inviting my praise.
Perfect peaks appeared warm and tempting in the gloaming light,
Their tops made pink by the dwindling rays of the setting sun,
Who, like an adoring artist, was reluctant to leave the scene he had created.
Those rounded hills curved down to valleys, shadowed now but rich with promise.
I felt I was being lured onward, to search out and explore their hidden places,
To drink deeply from the sweet rivers that bubble up from secret springs.
Ah me … never have I beheld such beauty or desired so much.

Hi sappho,
what an amazing picture you paint in a poem, I could
really see that land, laid out before you.
Thanks for the read.
Jenny.
