Oh come take flight
Sneak past the priestly guards
Who watch for our sinful souls.
For we run wild
Among the Beltane fires
And boughs of forest old.
Come sit with me my sister dear
And Stories shall we Tell.
As green young men
Jump Bel's great pyre
And maidens choose which they'll hold.
For tonight sister flows away
Your maidenhood
Beneath the stars and moon.
Like the flower tucked aside your ear
You too begin to bloom.
Land and beast and goddess all
Tonight shall be blessed
Around the maypole strong and bold
The lady calls him at her request

Hi V.C.Willow,
what an amazing read, I think this is one of my
favourite poems on here.
I hope you write more beautiful poems like this,
it really takes me back to nature.
Thankyou for an incredible read.
Jenny.
