Star Crossed Lovers

The mood mad girl
Danced on a silver sand beach
Basking in the moon light
Just beyond her reach
Her silver gilded tresses
Dancing in the breeze
Laughter floating upwards
Responding to its tease
A sun seeking lad
On a late night stroll
Saw the moon mad girl
Standing on a knoll
Taking in her beauty
Her silver gilded hair
Wondered at her luminescence
And went to join her there
The mood mad girl
Watched him growing close
His own coppery tresses
Was what she noticed most
Glowing like an ember
In the soft star light
It filled her with wonder
As it brightened the night
The sun seeking lad
Faced the moon mad girl
Holding out his hand
To join her in her world
Of silver sifting sands
And pale moon cover
Hoping that soon
He’d become her lover
The moon mad girl
Drawn to dew cooled flame
Welcomed her new lover
Believing he felt the same
Worshiping the stars
And pale moon dark
Unknowing in her innocence
He was a morning lark
The sun seeking lad
Became melancholy in the gloom
Feeling sadly bereft
With only the moon
On afternoon stroll
Had lost his way
Though their love was sweet
He pined for the day
The moon mad girl
Sensed his melancholy mood
And guessed that soon
Their sweet interlude
Would come to end
Her lover slip away
And vowed to follow him
Into the brightness of day
The sun seeking lad
Made love to the girl
Knowing she’d follow him
Into his sun bright world
Their passion painted
The velvet night sky
The moon looked down
And it began to cry
The moon mad girl
Looked up at the stars
To bid them farewell
Gathering kisses from afar
Her silvery eyes
Reflected the moon
Who sadly knew
It would end in doom
The sun seeking lad
Walked with her hand in hand
To proudly take her to
His sun beamed land
His coppery hair
Shining brightly in the sun
Happy once again
That the day had begun
The mood mad girl
Turned ruby red in the light
Wishing for the shiver
Of a silver moon night
Her longing for the lad
Increased her unrest
Was it him or the moon
That she loved best
The sun seeking lad
Sensing her distress
Took her to the shade
And thought it best
That his moon bound lover
Avoid the bright and searing sun
To protect her moon pale skin
Till the day was done
Now the moon mad girl
And the sun seeking lad
Looked at each other
Each being sad
Her, anguished in the day
Him, weary in the night
Then wondered if they
Could find half light
So this is the story
Of sunrise and sunset
The only times now
Our lovers have met
Morning sky red
With passion’s delight
Evening sky purple
Love’s candle light.
