Pot of Gold

(Intro)
All these bright lights are not for me,
Close my eyes, just wanna be back home
I miss the days when life was simple,
Didn’t have to walk on the path of the rainbow
In search of that pot of gold
There’s a mother out there right now,
About to give birth to the next Lebron
Who’ll bring riches to family like a leprechaun
She’s hoping that this baby will succeed,
‘Cause her other son’s in the hood dealin’ weed
She negated her first son by letting him roam the streets
The only time he showed creativity was over rap beats
But the hip-hop culture influenced him to carry a pistol,
No father figure around ‘cause he jetted off to Bristol
Now her eldest is somewhere in California reppin’ the red,
Member of the Blood gang where they sniff crack in a shed
This mother is in labour and now in the quest to find peace,
Concerned that perhaps this chid will also resort to carryin’ a piece
Her sisters holdin’ her hand tight and in the corner’s her neice
Maybe this young girl will finally have a brother she can love,
It has been an hour since the three entered the delivery room,
Aunt Sharleen tryin’ hard to contact her nephew but no reply
She gets a text a minute later sayin’ ‘I hope ma and the child die’
She doesn’t tell her sister this, instead tells her he wishes them good
Another hour goes by and still there’s no baby born,
The mother’s feelin’ excruciating pain,
It’s like her hearts been ruptured by a thorn
Finally, two hours pass and the child is out in good health,
His mother stares into his eyes and he looks back
She has been given a second chance by God to raise another child,
Unlike his older brother this one laughs and gives a smile
She eloquently stares into the bright sun, “God please bless my son”
“I hope he’ll achieve beyond our greatest expectations and be the best”
“Please don’t let him become involved in drugs and gang tats on his chest”
“I see him giggling and giving a warm smile, let me witness him walk a mile on the path of the rainbow and do something now person in our neighbourhood has ever done before, allow a tale of a young boy who went on to do great things be told. So that we can say that my little leprechaun found his pot of gold”
