Electric lights flicker over,
patrol dog-pack on their beat
while a fox detective watches
from the corner of the street
not noticing the slim shadows
of the local cat conspiracys,
meet in secret when we sleep.
One night as I dreamed my cat
transformed me to be company,
and as a fellow whiskerando I
was allowed to see the crimes
silently committed in a slink
of trickery, every cat is any
houdini mystery, no magician.
One night I ran up the drive,
and was stopped in my tracks,
by a beautiful orange fox who
for moment stared right back,
left me knowing as it vanishs
into the trees how in darkest
light invisible, always sees.

We have quite a lot of foxes round here, Kahdai, and I often see them in the daytime too.
As to your poem, I really enjoyed it. I like the nice tight structure you have used, with the seven line stanzas. It works very well. The second stanza is my favourite and I love 'whiskerando'.

Well done on this, Kahdai;-)
