Jack Jones is a detective in the Freedom City Bureau of Investigation. He and his teammates protect the citizens of Freedom City and keep danger at bay. Adam is Jack's best friend since Jack saved his life. Jack jumped in front of a bullet to protect Adam, and got shot in the arm by the Masked Killer whose identity is unknown. The Masked Killer had murdered Jack parents in cold blood. Jack's father, Mike Jones, was on the investigation team until he was killed by the Masked Killer. Mr.Abbott, the captain of the Freedom City PD, has taken care of Jack since the death of Jack's parents.
It had been 3 months since their encounter with the Masked Killer, and Jack and Adam had been friends since, but their friendship will not last long. It had been an ordinary day at the office, no large cases what so ever, when a very epic case came up: Adam's cousin was murdered with two stabs in the heart, and the primary suspect was Jack's childhood friend whom he hadn't seen in ages. That was shocking news. It destroyed the friendship between Adam and Jack. Jack thought it might have been an accident or a mistake, but Adam started a an awful quarrel. He blamed Jack because he defended his cousin.
This feud continued for ages, neither thought of making up. Meanwhile, there had been a surprise for the BI. There had been a mole in the PD in Freedom City, and valuable information have been stolen from the mainframe PC of the BI. The mole had been tracked down to a sacked police official called Ray Dobbins. He is currently on the run and this news was published in newspapers and TV channels all over Freedom City. John was supposed to help in this case. Mr.Abbott didn't want his team to break, so he didn't put Adam on the case.
They tracked down Ray to an old apartment in Freedom City Downtown. They went down to arrest him. He was arrested and taken for interrogation. He confessed that he was bribed by an unknown person. They were in a dead end! They couldn't track the briber.
Meanwhile, in the Liberty Mountain at the outskirts of Freedom City, a meeting was held for the outlaws of Freedom City, some of them released from prisons, some of them escaped. The Masked Killer was head of the meeting, since the property is his and he is probably the greatest murderer in Freedom City, known by all citizens to murder more than 50 victims to date and the counting continues. The reason the meeting is held is because the outlaws of Freedom City are afraid of being caught by the son of their enemy, Mike Jones, whom stepped into his father's shoes, and followed his footsteps. They are furious at the Masked Killer because he failed to kill Jack Jones when Jack was at the point of The Killer's pistol." You are a loser, you can't kill a man 12 years younger even if he's at your gun's point." Shouts rose from all around the small country house. "Shut your mouth holes, you scum. How dare you talk to me like this. He is protected by the Bureau, and I can't return to that mouse hole again. But I do have a mole there. He says that he had bribed a colleague to spy for him, surely he was unknown."
Now this statement proves the prison to be a great failure. The FCBI have installed super micro cameras in the house in case the Killer returned (which obviously happened).
This had been broadcast to the FCBI main frame and only seen by some who decided, with the permission of Mr.Abbott, to delete the file and never tell anybody about it to avoid chaos.
Naturally, Jack tried over and over to make peace with Adam, but he never prevailed. Adam was just a proud stubborn man and Jack supposed he should get used to it. Meanwhile, the search continues for the treacherous spy who has succeeded in hiding from justice. The last lead was that he called sent an e-mail from an internet cafe downtown Freedom City. A dispatch including Jack (without Adam of course) was sent to that cafe. While the dispatch was en route Adam and two
other officers were sent on a petty theft case in the countryside .
A few days later, during one of the more boring days at the office, another quarrel broke out between Adam and Jack.
"Come on Adam, it's natural for a person to defend the name of a close friend. I'd do the same for you."Jack said.
"Well, defend him all you want, but no criminal can escape justice."
"Innocent until proven guilty, Adam, always remember that. Now if you two will break it up, I have an announcement to make. The case about the spy is going nowhere. So, you'll do good if you close the case." By then, the docile trained crime fighters was about to riot. This case had struck them hard. It made them feel insecure and paranoid. One of their colleagues, a filthy treacherous spy! It would have been better to close this case for good. But alas orders are orders. They cannot be questioned or disobeyed. So, after a few hurried conversations everyone went back to work on the everyday business.

"Welcome back. Your information has served me greatly." said the masked killer. "Your welcome. But where is my payment?"
