Brown eyes, so loud over the wind;
voice so quiet.
He moved in silence.
Poplars waved,
screaming with joy.
I strained to hear.
He paused,
blackberry bruised wood.
A game.
No sewing trail of poppy dots
on milk skin.
A dance with brambles.
