A christmas to forget,
During that cold december.
Sat in the cabin, just you and me,
Sat by the fire and the Christmas tree.
Each with a mug of tea,
Just you and me.
Outside a blanket of white,
The ground as snug as a bug.
We each got a present,
Me to you,you to me.
But we just couldn't see,
What we had done to each other.
Everything we done just to cover it up.
Saying everything was fine to friends and family.
But this was not true,
Me and you were having trouble.
And we just couldn't see,
We had the greatest gift of all.
Can't be wrapped and tied in a box.
Love was what we use to have.
What we still have,
Which has been lost in the forest of emotion.
