The search for Merlin Homes 15/15

They flew back to the land they’d left before they’d crossed the sea to England. As expected the sun came out, so the scooter was once more able to fly in ever increasing circles until they recognised some of the landscape. Then they agreed on the correct direction to head for home and lay as flat as they could to reduce wind resistance.
The scooter hurtled along, vibrating slightly with its speed through the air, until they got within sight of Morwenna’s back garden, then as the scooter slowed down, she began getting fidgety.
“I’ve been thinking, if the Merlin Homes man has been able to find us and sort out the problem, then that means that the witches might well be waiting as well to do something horrible to me because I’ve been making trouble for George.”
“Don’t worry,” said Jennifer Jane, “I’ll go in first and explain things. I’m sure you’ll be alright when they know your reasons.”
And so it turned out. Abigail was waiting as Jennifer Jane turned the key in the lock of the back garden door. Rather unexpectedly George was also with her, as well as two of the biggest wizards she had ever seen.
“Wait a moment,” called out Jennifer Jane as the wizards ran towards the open door. “Everything’s quite all right now, Morwenna explained everything to me and we’ve become good friends.”
She told Abigail the story about the extending sword and how Morwenna thought it had been unfair use of magic, by a knight. The wizards waited, tapping their feet impatiently.
“All right then,” said Abigail at last, “Jennifer Jane isn’t wrong very often, we’ll give Morwenna the benefit of the doubt until we can make sure for ourselves.”
Jennifer Jane went back through the door and returned holding Morwenna’s hand. Moggy was doing the usual cat thing of walking from side to side just in front of them, so that they nearly fell over him at every step.
Morwenna walked up to George and apologised for her past attempts to ruin him.
“Don’t worry about it now,” said George rather bashfully, “it’s all just been explained by young Jane.”
“He’s not used to talking to women the same age as himself,” whispered Abigail, when Jennifer Jane looked as if she was going to start asking questions.
The Merlin Homes man took Morwenna inside the cottage by herself, so that he could show her all the forgotten secrets.
Ten minutes later a happy owner came out clutching an instruction book, while the man promised her that he’d go and find home number three hundred and twenty five to perform the same service for those owners.
“Oh well, all’s well that ends well,” said Abigail.
She walked out through the front gate followed by everybody else. Jennifer Jane noted happily that the cottage was just outside the Witches’ Home. She also noticed that George had hung back behind the others and was busily talking to Morwenna as they walked slowly along the path towards the front gate!”
