Tablets will destroy the dream I fear…

I’ve been bumbling in dreamland
Tottering along
Loving the signs and symbols
Absorbing all the songs.
There’s always extra meaning,
In every event,
Every conversation, every sunset.
Expectation! Hope is never spent.
There’s a poem for every occasion
Filtering love complete
With gorgeous lines and metaphors
To the rhythm of: Heart Beat.
The beauty of my imagination,
My quiet space;
Decorated with light and love,
Overflowing faith, hope and grace.
Now the real world is yelling:
“Leave your escape.
You can’t live there forever you know!
Take tablets for the heartache.”
I put the tablet back in its box;
Nice and slow;
I’m just not ready yet,
To let the love go.
And the world whispers,
Softly in my ear:
“Why are you torturing yourself?
You’re worth so much more my dear.”
