You say it’s nearly a year now,
and I am really settled.
So, I curl up into the shape of a prawn.
I’ve had my illnesses and my problems,
but I get treats and cuddled,
as you whisper it’s nearly a year now.
I think back to all my lost pups,
taken and gone before I was saved.
Sleepily I whimper. Curled up as a prawn.
Behind you I hide from Jack Russells,
and Alsatians. I’m really scared.
You tell me it’s been a year now.
I go on the park for my walks,
I’m not so keen when it’s ever so cold.
In front of the fire I curl up - as a prawn.
I watch people passing through windows.
I bark and stand guard.
For all I know it may be a year now.
Let me curl up and become a prawn.

First time visit for me to
First time visit for me to your stuff. I liked this very much. And incidentally, it's nearly a year since your last piece - is that a coincidence?
