My Love is young beneath the skies, and to his heart my spirit flies;
Though I call, I follow him, yet mine the heart that he would win.
The Earth lies dreaming in his eyes, and in his hair the Summer sighs;
And every song that stirs the wind is mine, is mine that calls therein.
- - - - - - He calls me, I seek for him;
- - - - - - With questing heart I shadow him;
- - - - - - Through nightshade and sunlaced air
- - - - - - I call him,
- - - - - - I hear him ....and he is there.
*
Only the wind can cross the sun and see no shadow follow on,
And only he that I would find has known before my searching mind.
The night lies blue on yonder pool where mirrored waters shimmer cool;
I would forsake this languid sleep to see his face within the deep.
- - - - - - Around me, above, below,
- - - - - - I see him where I turn and go
- - - - - - In moonlight, fair rain and snow;
- - - - - - He calls me;
- - - - - - He waits in every place I go.
*
With a gesture comes the Dawn; with a smile the Light is born;
Golden in the Earth's green glade, love is found and love is made .......
The waking hills with dew are pearled as Dawn treads softly on the world;
The breath of Time its silence keeps while in the mountain's heart he sleeps.
- - - - - - He beckons - arise, the Dawn;
- - - - - - In his smile the Light is born;
- - - - - - He loves me, and though I stay,
- - - - - - He dances .......
- - - - - - He dances all the Earth away,
- - - - - - He dances all my world away.
