Her radiance overwhelms, as from the vale
She peeks I shyly fade back into space;
For as her sun does shine, my moon, it pales
So faint I’m nearly lost without a trace.
By nature I remain compelled to chase,
And each new day I strive to make us one;
Then in that twilight, teasèd with a taste
Of what such union could someday become.
But as I reach to grasp that setting sun
With outstretch’d arms, engulf the sky in night;
Her brilliance shies away and leaves me numb
Again, in darkness, smothered by my plight.
For day and night can never coalesce
Such truth I must abide until my death
