Grandchildren staying (IP)

Round the house,
running legs
scuffling, shuffling,
searching, hunting Easter eggs.
Where’s Mum put them? read the clue –
one for me and one for you.
“Call for dinner!” – in the gong;
“old computer” – not this one!
“a big, black shoe” and “somewhere cool”
“riding on a twirly stool"
"find a yellow cushion?" poke and pry,
who’ll be next more foil to spy?
“Is your uncle still asleep?
(Never mind, slink in and creep)
watch or catch the (model) train”
‘sorry, its your nephews finding eggs again!’
“Muddy jumper goes straight in
the wash tub, not the dirty laundry bin!”
(Hope it wasn’t run last night!)
must be lots more hidden out of sight.
“Atishoo!” – who can see a tissue box?
“fetch clean towels” “… and a Ben10 pair of socks”
“a foot-rest for a soft black cat”
– that’s that ‘toy’ in great-gran’s flat.
Count up what you’ve got,
how many have you found?
none left out to make a mess,
get sat upon around?
Put them somewhere safe away;
don’t eat all those eggs today!

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
I like the idea of the kids having clues as to where to find the eggs. We just hide eggs in some fairly obvious place in the garden. Maybe we will try your idea next Easter.
It was fun to read.
