HEY NONNY NONNY NOOOO!

A maiden fair with golden hair
Lived in a valley green-O
The whole day through all she could do
Was weep and wail and keen-O.
A Prince came by and heard her cry,
Said ‘Why such woe and sorrow? Oh
Please take my ring – I’ll soon be King
You could be a Queen tomorrow-O!’

She did not speak; her knees went weak
She fell down in a faint -Oooh
Safe in his arms, she displayed her charms
And he had no complaint –OHHH!
The Queen was glad – the King went mad
He’d wanted a Princess-O –
But with his boy so full of joy
He wished the pair success-O!

No sooner wed, the new bride said:
‘You promised me the crown! Oh
The King looks well – but with a spell
He’ll soon be dropping down – Ohh!’
The Prince felt bad – he loved his Dad
But more he loved his wife, so –
He let the bitch – who was a witch –
Cut short his Father’s life. Oh…..

The die was cast, and, Queen at last
She ruled both King and Crown! O!
But Mother-in-law saw through the whore
And vowed to bring her down. Sooo…
To help the king, she got a ring
From a freelance wizard friend-O
And with the spell she got as well
Ensured the Queen’s swift end. Oh!

The gold ring shone as she tried it on –
The diamonds they did glitter so –
But in a short while her greedy smile
Became a snarl so bitter. Owh!!
The ring was stuck – she said: O duck
They’ve stitched me up real proper-Oh!
The poison’s in, I cannot win,
And now I’ll come a cropper O!’

She began to cough, her crown fell off
It really looked quite tragic. Oh.
And as she died, the dowager cried:
‘That’ll teach you to mess with magic-O!’
The King was pleased to be released
And the Palace rang with laughter. Oh
He thanked his Mother, soon found a lover –
And lived happily ever after-O!
