The Hidden Country

Come with me,
Across the unknown sea,
To a land that’s green and fine.
Where flowers bloom,
Under the brilliant moon,
And it’s peaceful all the time.
Mountains soar,
Over dale and moor,
And a valley fair and wide.
And a rushing stream,
Running fast and clean,
Flows to meet the coming tide.
Not a sound is heard,
But of beast and bird,
And the wind blows through your mind.
So stay with me,
In this hidden country,
And leave the world behind.
Swift and swallow glide,
Over mountainside,
All creatures run free and wild,
And we will wake,
Beside the mirror lake,
To a breeze, gentle and kind.
To see clearing peaks,
In the heights we seek,
Where one day we will climb.
And the time will come,
With the setting sun,
For dreams both sweet and mild.
For both day and night,
Are of utter delight,
In this land where we reside.
And we will be,
In the hidden country,
Until the end of time.
