Old Brown Shoe
Who did you belong to
Someone called Derek, Brian or John
Whoever it was is now long gone
and left you
on the side of the road
without a leg to stand on.
Old Brown Shoe
Someone once loved you
Were your laces too tight
Did you come off in a fight
or simply thrown out
by a man with bad gout
or no longer had passion
for something
thats gone out of fashion.
Old Brown Shoe
I feel for you,
for I like you
were once a pair
now legless and lonely
and a dead badger
is the only company you keep
It couldnt be sadder
to be left on the street
a piece of old footwear
bereft of feet.

Hello, I like your unique approach to something we never actually notice or think about much ie...an old shoe, etc...very interesting and unique.

I really like this unique approach to something that is so unnoticed....but when you put thought into it, (A shoe) it really has a story about ones life within it. Very good poem. Deeply moving poem that leaves the reader with alot to think about...ie...when my Father left, my Mum wouldn't throw away his shoes....she said it brought him closer when she missed him.
