ALBATROSS
By moonphish
- 1243 reads
you once danced on the mountain
but in vanity you fell
and now gaze to the heavens
in the lower depths of hell
the smiles you once uplifted
have been tilted into frowns
the glad rags that once brightened you
are now just hand-me-downs
you were the mona lisa
now a mustache you have grown
a cat without it's whiskers
or a dog without it's bone
you once were wildly tickled
now you find that you are numb
the banquet that once nourished you
has dwindled into crumbs
you were a three ring circus
now you're just a bath tub ring
and eagle with no talons
or a bee that's lost it's sting
the world was once your oyster
but no longer are you boss
the golden goose that laid your eggs
is now an albatross
