in time and space
the bird has flown

although once owned

unwise the owl

the sky provides
the spacious room
a child at play
no longer bossed
in disarray

to be replaced
a thing of style
a thing of grace
a rush of wind
a holocaust
without a friend
a feather lost

a wondrous thing
a fiber of
a muscled wing
it cuts and weaves
the airwaves flossed
the mother grieves

to roam the air
exploring here
exploring there
it leaves no trace
in it's exhaust
