. I watched the train pull away there was nothing I could do ,
somewhere at the junction I’d lost the life I knew ,
everything I loved was moving away from me
on a lonely railway track somewhere I can’ see .
Hey station master stop the train down the line .
Take a look can’t you see ,
somewhere I’m lost in time .
Everyone belongs somewhere
but love belongs to me
and I should be on that train ,
see that’s my destiny .
I’m getting home alone with no excess baggage
and when its time to go
You know I’ll leave just as I came on my own ,
with no one here you see ,
its just me , its only me
and I’ll be getting home alone .
Standing on the tracks ,
shattered to the core ,
hinking I’ll never see the ones I love no more .
I can’t catch that train once it’s come and gone ,
So somehow I’ve got to find
the strength to carry on .
The distance get’s further at the journeys end
when you loose sight of those you love somewhere at the bend .
Like passengers that get off long before they should ,
there’s no reason why I guess I never understood .
I’m getting home alone with no excess baggage
and when its time to go
You know I’ll leave just as I came on my own ,
with no one here you see ,
its just me , its only me
and I’ll be getting home alone .
