break in at the heart

break in at the heart
something,
in the shining smile,
shows me there is a way
inside.
this will take time:
patience measured in Mondays,
the warmth of friendship first,
wound around us
like a Slanket.
a crowbar in words won’t work;
and sledgehammer gestures,
are the wrong approach.
for this is a delicate procedure,
for the most delicate of hearts.
a heart, hidden
within
the most wonderful whole.
forgotten almost –
like a room where no one goes anymore;
a room,
patiently waiting
for the right guest.
and slowly, carefully,
with soft spoken stealth,
i have scaled the security fence
and now wander the grounds
wide-eyed and amazed.
ahead, faint, flickering light
from that silent room,
shines through the night.
the way on, will take care
and caution,
but that room waits.
not so much a break in,
as a door opened
gradually,
nervously…
…eventually.
