Reincarnation

1.
Who are you ?
where have you been ?
have you lived before
in another time ?

Human flesh is temporary
it is destined to return
from whence it came
in time it will burn

From ashes to ashes
from dust to dust
even strong Iron
soon becomes rust

Stories abound
of lives past
is it the truth ?
or is it a trick ?

2.
There are spirits
of this I am certain
they live their lives
behind a curtain

It seems more likely
that the spirits travel
weaving a web of mystery
for us to unravel

Could it not be
that we only live once
but they bring to us
a residue of their previous owner ?

3.
It is a theory i now put before you, that rather having
had previous lives, that spirits from others bring a residue
of their past consciousness into our minds.
