wavers between a hero such
as Jonathan Livingston Seagull
once was---and him a front
line scout from the flock on a
journey seeking food. One lone
bird seeking flavour not just
tossed tidbits like a corner
crust of bread---but pizza his
memory favourite. The
sauce slathered across slices
destined for some tummy.
Thankfully full ones rejecting
good slices in rare moments.
Upon discovery a scout must
call the flock then share any
prize. Then the task of protecting
all treats with swirls of movement
criss-crossing to mark the spot.

Wonderful Richard. Read it
Wonderful Richard. Read it three times now and each time got something new from it. Each line written so well and each telling its own piece of the story.
The scout, the memory favourite ( pizza), sharing the prize, and marking the spot. Fabulous!

You've an intelligent mind
You've an intelligent mind and a very individual manner in presenting them, R.
And even better, you understand metaphor... sadly, a dying art nowadays.
Now while I like the disenfranchisement of faith (for lack of a better word) behind this piece, your title confuses me greatly.
Well done

Hahahahaha... Cat fights in
Hahahahaha... Cat fights in poetry are very common where I come from, my friend. But ne're a hair is ruffled. The Tern (hint) of words there though is always respectfully convoluted *chuckle*

Very much enjoyed this, Richard. As had been said, this poem has clearly been meticulously constructed to get the narrative across in an interesting way. You have a wonderful way with words, my friend. I particularly appreciated the Jonathan Livingston Seagull reference!
