To explain the above piece, yes it is a bit toungue and cheek and the rhyming scheme adds a dash of extra "attention" in the fact that sad-masochism is generally frowned upon in modern society. More of a decleration of forbidden exploitation per se. However, the best meaning you can find lies within your own imagination and experiences.
