You watch, witness
silent, half obscured
for human indifference
You see, suffer
ignominy of depletion
the poverty of souls
the mindless plundering
of unfathomed riches
We watch, wary
of the end of days
the last hurrah
the final straw
Yet choose blood guilt
but not atonement
We see, stricken
reflected
through your mute, colourless eyes
Armageddon of our own making

A sad reflective poem, with some well
chosen words.
I felt all the frustration as I read.
Very clever.
Jenny.

This was the perfect storm
This was the perfect storm that struck Bosnia and Rwanda. Maybe it is being re-enacted in Syria. But you look at all of the massacres in ancient times, and the perspective changes the equation. Yet, primitive desires still grist the war mill. A nice, conscientious poem you have penned.
