i'm not prone to convention
my own path, i'd rather walk
i have no use for people
who may point at me and gawk
my faith folds out like road maps
as my compass, common sense
i'll never be a victim
but a master of events
i'm one with mother nature
loving son, i'll always be
i'm living in a house
that has been nailed up to a tree
my ceiling is the sky
where stars in transit tend to swarm
the fluffy clouds, my blanketing
ensuring i'll stay warm
i don't require a radio
the birds provide my song
the whistling winds, my lyricist
the message, soft yet strong
my feet don't touch the ground
which makes my mind alive and free
i'm living in a house
that has been nailed up to a tree

This is a great poem Alvin,
it kind of reminded me of a hippy that I
watched a programme about, who built a
house in a tree and had no contact with
the outside world, apart from the tourists
that came to see him.
Reminded me also of my childhood, when we
built tree houses, as I had woods at the back
of my garden, it was such fun.
Yes you triggered a lot of memories with this
one Alvin.
Thank you for sharing.
Jenny.

You capture the sense of
You capture the sense of outsider-ness, but one-ness with nature very well. One of my favourite books is The Grass Harp by Truman Capote - they go and live up in a tree. Sounds lovely to me.
