The Stars and Back

An alarm clock
ticks away the beauty
of this evening...
A whisper of a dress,
the colour of smoke,
floats to the floor...
and a glass – brim-full
of liquid silver shimmers
by the bed.
Once more tonight,
I drown in long,
slow strokes
of me in you;
low enough
to feel your breath
upon my chest...
your eyelids
feather my thighs –
your tongue, brush
my nipple...now
just high enough
to scan the vista
of the years – binds
that first, shy kiss
to this.
The moon pools
gold – dissolved
in ink black oceans;
we look at the skyline
remembering
what’s been lost,
and a flight of wild geese –
frets of light
on midnight streets.
You took me
to the stars,
and back.
For only here –
we are.

I loved the passion in the beginning of this poem Tina, then the realisation that memories are precious gifts to remember...that first kiss and the love you share down through the years. Beautifully mastered poem. Thank you for sharing. Jenny.
