BLACK FLOWERS

the sun just seems too hot sometimes
the day, so very long
i crave the rising of the moon
whose rays are not as strong
.
dispersing jagged shards of light
in which my mind is caught
the soothing night relaxes
and unloosens every knot
.
the dove of day turns to a crow
which out the window, flies
so lovely when black flowers bloom
to ease my tortured mind
.
my thoughts get tangled in my head
and raise a fierce debate
till all is just cacophony
which won't alleviate
.
i ache to find a region
where my radio won't hum
and where the fingers of my mind
aren't beating on a drum
.
the soaring of a distant hawk
not buzzing dragonflies
so lovely when black flowers bloom
to ease my tortured mind
.
a multitude of people
with their auras all aflame
emotions so confusing
they refuse to have a name
.
a babbling of war cries
that you think will never cease
the air deprived of oxygen
which starves the heart of peace
.
the truth of pure unconsciousness
will dim the glare of lies
so lovely when black flowers bloom
to ease my tortured mind
