Whispers over soft terrain
And summer breeze skin
Meander furrowed pages
Of stories held therein.
Missed kisses and velvet
Bestrewn to fallow ground
Discovered wishes burgeon
And savour Nature’s sound
Shadows creep and overlap
With every nod and sigh
As rays feign behind a veil
Of inky blue and lie.
Autumnal breath upon the nape
Is all that promise allows.
As Midsummer dies for love,
The falling leaves abound.

Excellent. Maybe take another look at the last three lines in terms of metre and rhythm, other than that its bloody marvellous.
