Winter Wine

I stand alone...
drinking
in the season,
touched by
Mother nature's
Summer shadows...
now long gone in the
blinking of an eye,
remembering the
breeze that felt like
butterfly wings,
now a bitter wind
dances across my cheeks,
liquid...firm as crystal
suspends on boughs;
its grip fragile to the touch,
reminding me of my own
vulnerability...in this ever
changing terrain,
as eagle glides on
Winter's frosty chill;
its existence raises my spirit,
so I linger here a while...
feeling dreamy as moonlight,
a wolf howls in the darkness,
hidden from view by a
black velvet night,
only the million jewelled stars
sparkle...sending magic rippling
through the ever changing atmosphere.

This is beautiful. Such atmosphere! sounds and sensations - it's all here. There's something very peaceful in the solitude described in your poem. I love it.
Really special, jenny.
