A Good Sport

She is the girlfriend
of a man who plays snooker.
She is a good sport
and also a looker.
Of the rules of the game
she hasn’t a clue
but likes the way
he grips his cue
and the touch that he has
in stroking the balls,
at home or away
in snookers’ halls.
She hopes that he scores
a one-four-seven
because the aftermath
for her will be heaven.
He often achieves
the maximum score;
it fulfils her wishes,
could not ask for more.
Her ex-boyfriend
was a rugby hooker
but the game was too rough
so she switched to snooker.
