I still; don't know why I stayed up that night,

But I did; and it gave us all that fright,

The repetition in this is quite powerful! Beautiful piece.

oh I  plumb for the colon: see : not ; ;p; gives way more emphasis to the lyrics :)

I imagine it fair swings along when sung out :)
