I Disappear Each Time

I return
to this site –
where fish bite
lovers quake
and your kindness is just right.
In the twilight
sun evaporates into the night
stars appear so bright –
goodness and evil begin the fight
to change me. Through years
of strife
life flavoured me
and it was the way it was.

Yay!!! Pick of the day. And
Yay!!! Pick of the day. And so deserved for this absolute beauty. I loved it when I first read it and I am delighted that it has gone a big step further than just an 'ordinary' cherry. A great way to start your writing in the new year. I'm delighted for you Richard.

Beautiful, Richard. Simple
Beautiful, Richard. Simple and elemental. Touches the soul. As. these things should. Brilliant pick. I loved this at the first reading. Could be the piece I have enjoyed most of all from you. So far. Great crafting.

Hello and well done on the
Hello and well done on the golden cherries. There is a lovely restfulness to this, like the stillness of dusk. I especially liked when it rolled over between second stanza and third and the last lines. I don't know how to keep tags on authors I like either! Guess we just have to keep on our toes.

Hi Richard,
Hi Richard,
A lovely poem - very pithy. Nothing wasted - yet with a wealth of emotion and experience.
