Letter to a friend

To tease you with tea with words and words only
To please you with pleas to come when your ready
To know what I say is not what it seems
To see what I know is not what it means
To hear what I think is not what I dream
To touch what I drink is not in the stream
Of thinking less thoughts or having less noughts
It hardly seems worth writing.
