Woof! Tic(k)s! (IP)

With movements erratic,
– she felt nearly frantic,
and couldn’t be static,
with voice quite pathetic,
neurotic, traumatic,
‘Could you altruistically,
sympathetically, diplomatically,
check it particularly,
enthusiastically, systematically
diagnostically?’
‘You must be pragmatic,’ he said,
‘and not so dramatic,
it’s not problematic,
you aren’t a fanatic,
don’t be paralytic about parasytic …
just phone, be emphatic,
and truly dogmatic –
the kennels must de-tick this dog!’

[This is based on a true incident many years ago, where we teased my distressed mother with ‘tic’ words, climaxing with ‘dog-ma-tic’!]
