Time Guesstimates

Just a minute!
half a mo’,
I’ll be hardly any time –
don’t go!
In a second,
or a tic,
I’m coming! (isn’t he going?),
I’ll be quick!
Not that long,
soon be there,
on my way,
got a moment to spare?
Popping out,
or popping in –
distractions win:
where’s time gone,
drifting along?
Stretch a point,
or maybe time,
it rushes, drags,
gets lost or lags.
Can you guess
more or less
how long he means
how long it seems
to him or her,
to you, to me,
what can it be,
that hopeful estimate,
of internal clock,
approximate?
Am I late?

This is delightful, Rhiannon
This is delightful, Rhiannon - and so true to life. I'm guessing you had as much fun writing this one as I did reading it.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
I enjoyed reading this too. I am one of those people who can't stand to be late, and get very anxious when others are unexpectedly not on time. My daughter and grandkids were supposed to be coming to see me at 1 yesterday, but didn't arrive until 2.30, and I thought of all the various alternative reasons for the delay. I'm busy now helping my granddaughters with their first sewing projects.

Great poem Rhiannon,
this was one of those poem that had great rhythm as I read aloud.
Congrats on the well deserved cherries by the way.
