This Open Sea

You were a port in the storm
Your love light kept me warm
The world I grew to know was a world of you
I turned my back on everyone I knew
I cut my hair and bought new clothes
I was your play thing I suppose
I even changed the way I spoke
I laughed at your friends cruel jokes (and it made me choke)
Only for you to cut me adrift on this open sea
There's no one here but me
Adrift on this open sea
Few stars, a black night and me...
The little money that I had
It was all yours
I lit candles, pulled out chairs and opened doors
I followed you like a dog day and night
When you did me wrong I treated you right
Only for you to cut me adrift on this open sea
There's no one here but me
Too much to drink, too much time to think, into the flood I'll sink, it's pushed me to the brink
And there's no sight of land
And I can't understand how you could
Cut me loose on this open sea
There's no one here but me...

Hello, this is universal
Hello, this is universal transformation in love and well put - why do we ever alter ourselves for others and the dawning comes late. Lovely traditional images. Perhaps sort that long line out - unsure if formatting or deliberate but you don't need that run on.
