Being single

‘A discovery is an accident meeting a prepared mind.’
Like a broken down lawnmower in an overgrown garden
you are single again and you convince yourself that being single
is like LSD or the microwave or post-it notes;
an invention stumbled upon by mistake.
You are on your own again but you like it
it's not the way you thought your life would go
like the man walking his dog who noticed
prickly seeds sticking to its fur
and invented Velcro.

Loved stumbling across your poem. You open up new ways of thinking, fresh, gentle and you hit on things exactly.
