Have you ever seen it rain in Sydney

after a hot summer’s day at the beach,

when the dark clouds roll in from the ocean

so low they’re almost in reach?

Have you ever seen it snow in New York

and build up white on the streets,

when the air is so cold you could cut it

and your breath falls from your mouth in sheets?

Have you ever seen a sunset in Thailand

over the warm waters of the Bay of Bengal

while local kids try to sell you all sorts of things

you’d have no use for at all?

Have you ever woken up in a strange bed,

held safe in a stranger’s embrace,
