Train stop

The train stops for a moment,
Sun refracting through the window,
Gently heating my cheek.
The last green of summer
Hangs from the trees
Clinging to this final warmth.
Leaves calmly tremble in the nearly still air,
The sun sits low in the sky
above it stretch murky blue clouds,
Each bulging, pregnant with the elixir of the soil beneath.
Silence momentarily engulfs our beings,
Each passenger taking in the overwhelming still which pervades.
Summers dying silence, I am yours.
