Christmas

In the month of golden ice and cheer

mugs of chocolate and marshmellows dance

around  rooms dominated by a tree

outdoor the sound of chattering birds pecking at seed

while reinder and snowmen crowd on the mantle

aromas of turkey and stuffing drift on through

as christmas lights twinkle from the window pane

red and green silver and gold

well wishings and songs

gifts and laughter

hugs and warmth
