We never saw you cry
No one felt your pain
Now an empty office chair
Yawns sad and alone
That desolate workplace plain
No one really cared
Or even gave a damn
The day they sent you packing
A sordid sacrifical lamb
The office has an erie silence now
At last your stain has gone
Be careful what you wish for
Scorn is not so easy now
In a lonesome hell
You played the final scenes
No one heard you crying
Not even now they give a damn!

So sad, I read the other poem

So sad, I read the other poem first but now see that that tells of the haunting presence of a missing colleague.

Really sad. There's a feeling
Really sad. There's a feeling of regret, too , I think. At least someone cared - then wrote this lovely, atmospheric poem.
