Dinosaurs
By Philip Sidney

They walk the earth
think that they own it
take for granted that they
or one of their kind
will win
the right to tell us how to live our lives.
Self-satisfied, gleaming skin and hair
dazzling white smiles
sharp, sharp teeth
so, so sincere
with tiresome platitudes
they think we want to hear.
Too suave for rosettes
media savvy -
they cannot see
that so are we
their words fall like digital bits
sound bites from another time.
How do we rid ourselves of these tyrannous beasts?
Fierce religion? Plague? Something , something
bide our time
dream of days
when dinosaurs
no longer walk the earth.

Sadly we all become Dinosaurs in the end
Idealists of the 60's, dinos by the 80's . . . life goes on.
Good modern poem, which if fact is really about timelessness.
